WOMO Health Privacy Policy

Your body. Your data. Your rules.

WOMO Health ("WOMO," "we," "our," "us") is built by TechMae LLC. We make a women's bio-intelligence app for iOS that helps you understand patterns in your body. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.

We wrote this in plain language because privacy policies should not require a law degree to understand.

Apple HealthKit Data

If you grant WOMO permission to read from Apple HealthKit, we may access health data such as heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep analysis, menstrual cycle data, and body measurements that you have chosen to share through HealthKit.

HealthKit data stays on your device. We do not transmit your raw HealthKit data to our servers. We use it locally on your device to provide patterns and insights through Mae. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → WOMO Health.

We never sell or share your HealthKit data with third parties. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising. We do not share HealthKit data with insurers, employers, or data brokers under any circumstances.

The specific technology partners powering WOMO's bio-intelligence are part of our proprietary technology stack and are not disclosed publicly. Where data is shared with any service provider, we transmit only what is necessary for the function and never raw personal identifiers.

4. Your Rights

Account Deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete My Account. No phone call. No retention specialist trying to talk you out of it. The deletion happens via in-app API call within seconds. Your active Apple subscriptions through Apple will continue until the end of the current billing period — you can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Data Export

You can request a full export of your data by emailing hello@womo-health.com. We will provide your data in a machine-readable format within 30 days.

Data Correction

You can update your name, email, and other account information at any time in Profile → Settings.

HealthKit Access

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → WOMO Health. This does not delete data already collected — to delete that, use Account Deletion.

Notification Preferences

You can manage push notifications in your iPhone Settings → Notifications → WOMO Health.

If you reside in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (you agreed to this policy at signup) and contractual necessity (we cannot provide the service without processing your account data).

7. Data Retention & Research Participation

When you delete your account from inside the app, your removal from WOMO is complete from your perspective. No phone call. No retention specialist trying to talk you out of it. You go to Profile, then Settings, then Account, then Delete My Account. It is done.

Within 30 days, the following personal identifiers are permanently removed from our servers:

De-identified Aggregate Retention

Some de-identified information may be retained. This includes broad categories such as age range (not exact age), body profile, and symptom patterns over time. Before retention, identifying links are removed using HIPAA Safe Harbor de-identification standards. The retained information cannot be reverse-engineered to identify a specific woman. It exists only as part of a larger body of anonymous women's health understanding.

Worth knowing: Women's health research has historically been underfunded and unrepresentative. Conditions like fibroids in Black women, PCOS in South Asian women, and endometriosis across all communities lack large, women-centered datasets. Your de-identified contribution helps build the dataset researchers should have had decades ago.

This is not commercial data. WOMO does not sell access to advertisers, insurers, or employers. The de-identified dataset supports research papers, public health partnerships, federal grant programs, and earlier detection models for conditions that have historically been minimized.

If you want even your de-identified contribution removed entirely — not just personal identifiers, but your aggregate participation — email hello@womo-health.com. We will remove your contribution. No explanation needed.

Transactional records related to your in-app purchases (the fact that a transaction occurred, the amount, and the date) are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations. These records contain no personal health information.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data:

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and recommend you use a strong, unique password.

9. Children's Privacy

WOMO Health is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. Users between 13 and 18 should have parent or guardian consent before using the app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you within the app or by email. Continued use of WOMO Health after changes means you accept the updated policy.
